DECOMISSIONING OF MASTS BY MOBILE PHONE OPERATOR

The five main mobile phone operators, namely T-Mobile, Vodafone, Orange, 3 and O2 are currently entering into all sorts of contract agreements with each other to share network infrastructure facilities across the UK. This will heavily reduce the cost burden of operating mast sites independently of each other, and will mean that much fewer mast site will be required over the coming years. It is estimated that as many as 5000 mast sites will be removed from the UK landscape, but it is still unclear which landlords will be affected. Any landlord, who receives a letter from their mobile phone mast tenant or one of their contractors stating that it intends to terminate the lease or licence agreement, or even offer to sell the mast to you at greatly reduced price, should contact a specialist firm of telecoms consultants, who acts only for landlords and or landowners. You may be entitled to compensation and you should not agree to anything in writing or verbally without first taking professional advice. Telemaster has a specialist solicitor and a team of chartered surveyors on hand to answer your queries and concerns. Initial consultants are free and confidential.
